Richard Brescher

Personal Background:

I am a 45 year resident of Edison. My wife, June, and I raised our two sons, Richard, Jr., and Chris in Edison. I am a grandfather of two, Ryan and Madison. I serve as a Democratic Committeeman from District 54. I am an avid recreational fisherman.

I successfully own and operate a construction management company, which does work exclusively in New York. My clients include major hospitals, school districts, and private clients including Sony Music, HSBC, IMB, and Guardian Healthcare. My company is able to thrive in an extremely competitive market through the use of best management practices, a dedication to customer service, and the provision of quality services. Skills utilized include financial management, contract negotiations, communication, and human resources. These are skills I will bring to the Council.

In addition, I am also a current member of the Edison Board of Education. I serve on several committees, including the Finance and Facilities, State Liaison committee, and the Overcrowding Committee. Through my efforts, the District saved approximately $4 million on insurance costs. Additionally, I worked with elected officials in Trenton to help the District obtain an additional $3.5 million in school funding.
